Accept whatever your partner offers as true, then add something to build on it. Never block or deny their reality.
Listen first
Pay attention to what your partner says, does, and feels. Your next move should respond to them, not your pre-planned bit.
Stay open
Don't try to be clever or funny. Commit honestly to the scene and let the comedy emerge from where it naturally goes.
Make your partner look good
Improv is a team sport. Support their choices and the scene will take care of itself.
Use a timer (or don't)
There's a timer on the play screens if you want one. It's totally up to you how much time you give yourself — some scenes breathe in two minutes, some need ten.
